Representing  the simplest form of therapy based on electric current, but also the oldest, the electrotherapy procedure, used in physical and recuperative medicine, is a procedure that has as therapeutic agent the electric current.  continuous,  but  of  intensity  weak.  bathrooms  GALVANIC  combines the thermal effect of water with the action of direct and neopharadic current. This type of physiotherapeutic procedure is mainly used for muscular atrophies after prolonged immobilization, therapy of pain of nervous or muscular origin, for joint diseases, in chronic venous insufficiency.

Due to the local activating effect of blood circulation, the stimulation of cutaneous histamine secretion, with vasodilating effect, but also due to the analgesic effect (lowering the threshold of painful perception), galvanic baths are widely used, especially in treating rheumatic diseases, but also of peripheral circulation disorders (arteritis, Raynaud's disease, etc.).

The indications for galvanotherapy are multiple:

Nervous system disorders: sciatica neuralgia and neuritis, brachial plexus, trigeminal, intercostal, dental; paresis, paralysis (limbs, facial).

Disorders of the musculoskeletal system: rheumatic (myalgias, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis, epicondylitis, periarthritis, arthrosis, arthritis with various locations, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis during remission) and posttraumatic (contusions, sprains, sprains).

Diseases of the cardiovascular system: peripheral circulation disorders-obliterating arteriopathy (stages I-II), acrocyanosis, Raynaud's disease.

  Dermatological conditions:  keloid scars, eczema.
